SIMULATION IDEA

u Simulations will conduct for four cardinal directions (i.e., N, E, S and W) to account for the orientation effects.

u Totally, 25 simulation runs will conduct for the day lighting study (24 simulation runs with various external obstructions facing the 4 cardinal orientations and 1 without external obstruction).

u To better understand the electricity savings, the incremental electricity-reduction due to day lighting (i.e., the electricity consumption difference between the reference building with and without day lighting controls), the IERB, was computed and correlated with the angle between the roof of the reference building and the roofs of obstructing buildings, measured with respect to the facade of the reference building.
