Factors influencing productivity of PV power generation

Roof placement and orientation

The PV placement depends on several conditions. In Tropics, usually PV panels will be placed facing towards south because it will receive longer exposure hour. A north-facing roof surface will not receive enough daylight for the system to work for it depends on the latitude of PV applications. The placement of the PV panel has become the most important aspect to be considered in order to gain a higher productivity and to ensure the system will work. Also, the irradiance value at the location and last but not least, the weather must be considered. Nearby trees and shade will also determine, to certain extent, the productivity of PV panel.
