It has been found that PV modules, over their expected life span of between 20 and 30 years could fail or degrade in different ways with typical power losses in the range 1-2% /year. Surface soiling it involves the reduction of the module performance due to accumulation of dirt or dust on its surface. The “self-cleaning” of the glass surface by wind and rain could minimize the losses to less than 10%.
